Meet the Staff

Kelly

Office Manager

Kelly has been in dentistry for 15 years and has been working with Dr. Powers since May, 2000. Kelly handles treatment coordination, financial arrangements, and insurance questions. She uses a unique combination of skill, patience, and knowledge to help patients improve their oral health. You can expect quality, individualized care based on your specific needs and she is always interested in making all of our patients feel right at home! In her spare time, she enjoys spending the weekends with her family and friends.

Jaime

Front Desk

As one of our front desk team members, Jaime is dedicated to creating a pleasant experience for any dental needs or concerns you may have. She became part of our team in 2007 as an addition to our back office staff. She is primarily now our relationship coordinator and has the experience necessary to assist Dr. Powers when needed due to her in office training and continuing education throughout the past four years. Jaime is the smiling face you will most likely see when you first enter our office. She is always happy to assist you with anything that you may need and feels proud to call Dr. Powers' office her dental home.

Lisa

Dental Hygienist

Lisa started her career as a dental assistant, and then went to Wayne County Community College in Detroit, MI. She graduated in 1997 with an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene and is certified in laser, nitrous, and local anesthesia. Lisa enjoys the relationships she has developed over the years with her patients and truly enjoys listening to stories about their families. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her husband and two children. Lisa has been blessed with a great family and a great place to work.

Shannon

Dental Hygienist

Shannon is a proud graduate of Lumen Christi High School and graduated from Ferris State University in 1993 with an Associates Degree of Applied Science. She has been a practicing Registered Dental Hygienist since 1993. Shannon has a passion for cosmetic dentistry and personally connecting with her patients. She has worked for Dr. Powers twice in her career and is enjoying her second time around. Shannon has a wonderful husband and three fabulous children. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities and being with her family.

Dana

Dental Hygienist

Dana graduated with an Associates Degree in Applied Science-Dental Hygiene from Kellogg Community College in 1993. She has practiced dental hygiene in the Jackson area for 18 years. Her favorite part of dental hygiene is connecting with her patients. She also likes utilizing the advanced technology that Dr. Powers' office has to offer such as digital X-rays, VELscope early cancer screening, and the intra-oral camera. Dana is married with two children, Seth and Ryan. She enjoys traveling with her family. They also love animals and have many pets.

Ashley

Dental Hygienist

Ashley graduated with honors from Lansing Community College in 2008 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. She then moved to Davenport, IA with her husband while he completed his education at Palmer College of Chiropractic. Ashley is very artistic and takes great pride in her work. She is dedicated to establishing relationships with patients and always strives to make their experience enjoyable and informative. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, exercising, and spending time with her husband and their dog, Lexi!

Kathy

Dental Assistant

Kathy has been practicing as a Registered Dental Assistant for 39 years. She has a passion for creating a comfortable atmosphere for her patients and enjoys her new semi-retired work schedule. Kathy has been married for 47 years and has two children and three granddaughters.

Nicky

Dental Assistant

Nicky has been a part of the Summit Woods Family Dental Care team since 2007. She received her training at the Jackson Area Career Center while attending Michigan Center High School. Nicky is CPR certified, X-ray certified, and has taken multiple continuing education courses including master classes for CEREC® restorations. She provides an energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. In her spare time, Nicky enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Linsey

Dental Assistant

Linsey has been a dental assistant since 2004 and a part of our dental family since 2009. Linsey is CPR certified, X-ray certified, and has taken multiple master classes on CEREC® restorations. Linsey is very knowledgeable about Invisalign® and can understand patients’ feelings and concerns since she is in the middle of treatment as well. Linsey's outgoing nature and caring personality helps to make your visit one of the best dental experiences you've had. It's that kind of experience that gives you the confidence to refer your family and friends to our office. Linsey is the proud recipient of the prestigious Mother of the Year coffee mug given to her by her two young children, Nolan and Madden.
